Grasshopper was born in the trenches. We started as a commercial HVAC shop in Clifton Park, New York, before Grasshopper had a name. We pivoted to residential and started over. Then COVID nearly shut the doors for good.
We had no choice. We went all in on a new brand and a new purpose. It was our last at bat, and we swung. We named it Grasshopper, because a grasshopper only moves forward, and we were determined to keep moving. Amanda August did not have a playbook. She built one, on a belief that refused to settle: people deserve more than a job. They deserve a future. A team. A chance to rise.
That shop became one of the fastest-growing home service brands in the country. Not luck. People. Culture. A standard that only moves forward.
Then it became something bigger. Founders in nine cities, each running the company they built, all running The Forward Way. The first women-led home service company of its kind. One company, many locations.
